Political boundaries old vs. new… Which should I teach?
For the purpose of Cycle 2, you will want to teach the boundaries associated with the location covered each week. There are 3-4 locations that are either no longer countries or unions. Students should become familiar with the region that country or union once encompassed. Some parents may choose to also point out the present-day countries that occupy that geographical area now. CC’s hope is that families everywhere develop a heart for the world, by being familiar with countries, features, etc… that will give them a tremendous context in which to place and interpret historical events and present-day movements.
