PSAT
The Preliminary
SAT/
National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test
- The PSAT is a standardized test that provides
practice for the SAT Reasoning Test.
Students in 9th and 10th grades are
encouraged to take the test each year BUT it is important for 11th graders
to take the test, as there are scholarship opportunities based on the
results.
- The PSAT is offered in October of each
year. In August, check with
the counselor of your area high school to determine if he/she would be
willing to allow home schoolers to test with them. PSAT test dates and other
information may be found on the College Board web site at www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/about.html.
