Jennifer Nevarr

Developing Area Manager

JNevarr@ClassicalConversations.com

Jennifer Nevarr is blessed to be the wife of Michael and the mother of six children. She earned her MA degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Maine and worked for two years, and then joyfully left her career behind to be a stay at home mom. Growing up in Maine, homeschooling was a foreign concept; she didn't know anyone who homeschooled or was homeschooled. When she moved to Virginia, she enjoyed the children of the many families who were homeschooled in the church she and Michael attended. Jennifer and Michael decided before the birth of their first child that they would homeschool, and the Lord has been gracious to provide the ways and means necessary to stay on that path. Jennifer was introduced to Classical Conversations when she overheard some mothers talking about it at an end-of-grade testing event when her oldest child was in first grade. Intrigued, she went home and started looking for more information. Jennifer was delighted to find a CC community just 45 minutes away and immediately signed her family up for the following fall. From there, she helped form a community closer to home where she is now the Foundations Director.

Jennifer says "One reason I love the classical model as put forth by CC is because the idea that we learn Math because God created math and that we can know something more about Him through the study of Math. Previously this was a foreign concept! I was never given the chance to make those connections and see that big picture as a student. I want to help my own children see Christ in all areas of life." Jennifer loves to talk about classical education, and about knowing God and making Him known, so it seemed natural to move into the position of State Manager of Developing Areas. She is looking forward to working herself out of that position as the Lord raises up State Managers who will guide and direct the CC communities in their own states.
