Why does it appear I have been double-charged on my credit card?

Transactions through our website(s) begin with an authorization of the transaction.  If you are using a debit card, the request for authorization will show up on your card statement as a line item with the requested amount but will not be charged.  After the authorization request has been approved, usually within 24 hours (but it can take as long as 5 business days), another transaction for the given amount appears for the actual settlement transaction and the authorization charge will be removed.

In other words, it can appear that there are two withdrawals from your card, when in fact there is only one.  The first is a request for authorization and the second is the actual charge.  Within a few business days, once your card holder company grants authorization, the authorization request will be removed, and you will be left with the single transaction.

I just placed my online order – can I change it?

Unfortunately, we are unable to change orders once they have been processed (i.e., the credit card has been charged).  We are also unable to combine multiple orders together to allow for free shipping and/or a discount if even ONE of those orders has been processed.

How will I know if CC received my return?

Upon receipt and processing of your return, you will be contacted by email or phone regarding the status of your refund, store credit, and/or exchange.

Please allow up to 3 to 4 weeks to process your return.

Review our Returns Policy.

Where is my tin whistle?

If your order did not include your tin whistle(s), there are a few possible explanations:

1.) Tin whistles may be on back order from our vendor. In this case, the warehouse staff will work diligently to ship all tin whistle back orders within two days of their delivery at the warehouse.

2.) According to the U.S. Postal Service, tin whistles do not qualify as media and therefore cannot be shipped or included in a Media Mail package. We usually ship tin whistles in sturdy cardboard tubes, and because they are shipped separately, they may arrive a day or two before or after the rest of the order.

3.) The tin whistle(s) was accidentally omitted from your order.

If it has been more than 2 working days since you received your order and you still have not received your tin whistles, please check the tin whistle item on the CC online bookstore website. If there is an extended back order from the vendor, the estimated arrival date will be indicated here. If there is no indication of a vendor back order, please reply to this email and CC Customer Service will check on the status of your tin whistle(s).

May I order a Memory Master T-shirt for my child?

Memory Master T-shirts are orderable by licensed CC Directors ONLY and usually are available to order by the end of March.

Directors, please check the online bookstore (Clothes, Merchandise, and Gift Certificates tab) for ordering information and availability. Note: Media Mail is not available for these items.

Why isn’t my Memory Work Resource CD working properly? (I have a Mac computer.)

We try to make it clear to our customers that the Memory Work Resource CDs are NOT Mac compatible. This online link to an ordering page shows this information: http://www.classicalconversationsbooks.com/cy2popocdavs.html

If you purchase a Microsoft operating system, or PowerPoint, or a Windows emulator, you should be able to run the Memory Work Resource CDs. If needed, use this link for a free Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=6

Mac users have access to the Memory Work Resource CD files with a subscription to CC Connected, which provides all of the information contained on the Memory Work Resource CDs, plus more.

Why doesn’t the “DISCOUNT10” code work?

A coupon code is no longer necessary to receive 10% off qualifying orders. Our new checkout system automatically applies free shipping and discounts for qualifying orders. In addition, the system now accommodates multiple coupon codes, gift certificates, free shipping, and 10% off discount in the same (qualifying) order!

What if I received damaged or defective materials?

We will replace any damaged or defective items at no cost to you within 90 days of purchase receipt.

In some cases we will not ask for the damaged or defective materials back; please describe the items received and the nature of the damage or defect. We will cover shipping costs to receive any materials that we request to be returned.

What if something is missing from my order?

If your shipment is missing items, please check your invoice or our bookstore website for any backorders. If your item is not on backorder and was not included in your shipment, please contact Customer Service at Returns@classicalconversations.com or call 910-673-0100.

May I return my downloadable items?

Any downloadable items such as eBooks, PDF files, audio MP3 files, or iPad apps (purchased through Apple iTunes) are non-refundable after purchase. Please contact Customer Service at CustomerService@classicalconversations.com if you need assistance with your downloadable items.

What if I received something I did not order?

If you received extra materials that you did not order, please contact Customer Service. In some cases we will not ask for the extra materials back. However, we will cover shipping costs to receive any materials that we request to be returned.

May I return or exchange my books at a book event?

Customers are now able to return and exchange their CC books at local book events regardless of where they originally purchased their books. However, returned books must be in new salable condition and meet the guidelines of our returns policy.

Customers will receive the return or exchange price for the amount of the books being sold at that event. Please note that customers will be refunded the tax amount in the state where the book was returned, not the tax amount in the state where the book was purchased. To complete your return or exchange please contact your local Book Representative.

CC Communities, Programs, and Fees

Is this an accredited program?

Classical Conversations exists as a support organization to parents who home educate their children. We organize and facilitate weekly meetings for families with students at similar learning levels so that veteran home school parents can model classical education to other parents and students, with the ultimate goal of knowing God and making Him known. We are not a school; each of the families in our programs represents a home school operating under the family mandates and in accordance with the prevailing law. Because of this unique position of being a partner to, but separate from, the primary home school authority, the question of organizational educational accreditation cannot apply. However, we do take seriously the injunction placed on us by the Lord to teach our children (Deut. 4:9, 6:7, 11:19), and we believe our greatest testimony and credit are the students who have graduated from our Challenge programs. For more information about Classical Conversations, classical education, or our graduates, please see:

Why does it say I’m not in a community when I try to subscribe to CC Connected?

We have recently made updates to our system.  If you have tried to subscribe to CC Connected and got a message saying that your email didn't match or you are "not part of a community," please try to subscribe again.  Below are some additional suggestions you can try. If you still experience these problems, please respond to this ticket, letting us know what problem you are experiencing.

A frequent problem that happens is that your browser saves off pages you visit in order to more quickly display them for you the next time you that page.  If you think you did successfully subscribe and you received an email confirmation, but you are still getting the "failed login page," you can also try the suggestions below.  If you get a message that says you are already logged-in, this suggestion can work for that as well.

  1. 1) Clear out your browser cache.
    1. a) In Firefox, go to Tools and then Clear Recent History.  Check the box next to Cache and for Time Range select Everything.
    2. b) In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, and under the General tab click the Delete button under Browsing History.  Make sure Temporary Internet File is selected and click the Delete button.
    3. c) In Google Chrome, go to Tools and Clear Browsing Data.
  2. 2) Restart your browser after clearing out the cache.
  3. 3) Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.
  4. 4) If this still doesn't work, we recommend trying a different browser than you normally use.  Some browsers include: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome.  We've seen the best results with Firefox.

Why does it appear that I have been double-charged on my credit card?

Transactions through our website begin with an authorization of the transaction.  If you are using a debit card, the request for authorization will show up on your card statement as a line item with the requested amount but will not be charged.  After the authorization request has been approved, usually within 24 hours but can take as long as 5 business days, another transaction for the given amount appears for the actual settlement transaction and the authorization charge will be removed.

In other words, it can appear that there are two withdrawals from your card, when in fact there is only one.  The first is a request for authorization and the second is the actual charge.  Within a few business days, once your card holder company grants authorization, the authorization request will be removed, and you will be left with the single transaction.

I paid for one year, why is my subscription time less than one year?

If you signed up for a one-year subscription but the time is less than one year now, it is likely that you later added either Foundations or Essentials to your original subscription.  This is done through the Modify link under My Profile.  Rather than charging you more money or refunding, we decided to simply pro-rate your time up or down.  For example, if you are adding Essentials to Foundations, your paid time will end up being less than a full year.  If you subscribed to both Foundations and Essentials and then later removed Essentials, your paid time will actually be greater than one year.  We calculate the time based on what your monthly subscription rate is for each plan.

If this is your situation, please re-subscribe as needed.  If this is not your situation, please contact CC Customer Service.

Where can I find MP3 files to download?

MP3 files can be found on CC Connected in the File Sharing areas of Foundations and Essentials.  File Sharing is located under the CC Connected menu> Essentials or Foundations> File Sharing.  After the page opens, you are presented with several search options.  First select a category from the drop-down menu, and the page will populate with every file from that category: PDFs, Word Documents, MP3s, PowerPoint presentations, etc.  In order to limit the search results to MP3 only, simply type mp3 (it's not case sensitive) in the Filter box located on the top right side of the search results.

There isn't a bulk download option for MP3s or any other file type.  You will need to search each category and filter for MP3, and then download each individual file you want.

How do I access Foundations resources?

There are three main areas on the CC Connected Foundations tier: the forums, the file-sharing area, and the online tutorials.

You can access these by logging in and clicking on the CC Connected link on the blue menu bar at the top of the Classical Conversations website. You'll find memory work helps under the File-sharing menu area, and the memory work slide show (tutorial) is found under the Online Tutorials menu.

You may find this tutorial helpful:

How do I update my credit card information on CC Connected?

Unfortunately, the links don't always work properly. You can update your credit card information next time you log in. Under the CC Connected drop-down, click on the "Update Profile and Subscription" link. Then, under "Payment Details," click on "Modify" to update your credit card information. If you are still having problems or want us to help you directly, please call Customer Support at: 910-673-0100.

How do I modify my payment information or subscription details?

To modify your CC Connected payment information, go to the Update Profile and Subscription link. This link is located in the CC Connected drop-down menu, under the User Information section on the top right side of the page after you log in. In the section called Your Subscription Details, you will see Payment Details with the word Modify under it. Click on the word Modify to change your monthly auto-renewal billing information.

How do I cancel auto-renewal?

To cancel auto renewal on a CC Connected subscription,

  1. 1) Log in CC Connected with your username and password.
  2. 2) Click on CC Connected in the blue bar at the top of the screen.
  3. 3) Click on "Update Profile and Subscription."
  4. 4) In the last column, click on the "cancel" button to terminate auto renewal.

Your subscription will continue until the end date listed on that same page, and no future charges will occur.

What are my CC Connected subscription options? How do I cancel?

There are two subscription length options: yearly and monthly auto-renewal. With the monthly auto-renewal, you may cancel at any time.  Under the Update Profile and Subscription menu option under CC Connected, you will find all your subscription details.  If you have a monthly auto-renewal subscription, you should see a cancel link under the section Cancel Subscription.

Once you cancel your subscription, your access will remain until the end date listed.

Why does CC Connected show me as logged in on some pages and not others?

If you are having trouble with your CC Connected login, where it will show you as logged in on some pages and not others, what you need to do is add classicalconversations.com to your trusted sites.

To do this in Internet Explorer, go to Tools in your menu then select the last option called Internet Options.  Next click on the tab called Security, then click on Trusted Sites.  Click on the Sites button and paste in these two URLs, http://www.classicalconversations.com/ and https://www.classicalconversations.com/, clicking Add for each one.  Then click Close then OK to save your changes.

Why am I not receiving the discounted price for a CC Community Member (or Tutor)?

If you are trying to subscribe to CC Connected and are finding that you do not have the correctly discounted price, please check with your Foundations Director. First, be sure you and your director are using the exact same email address¾the one he/she entered into their community roster (on the Portal) and the one you are using to set up a CC Connected account. This is critical to your discounted pricing. It is also critical that your family is "enrolled" and not just "registered" in her listing on the Portal. Please be aware that after changes are made to the online data, it sometimes takes the system 3 to 5 days to fully update.

If you are a Foundations Tutor or an Essentials Tutor, please follow up with your Director concerning setting you as a tutor to receive the tutor discounted rate on CC Connected. You must be "designated" by a checked box in your Portal Profile, which only your director has access to from her community listing. After he/she has designated you, again, it may take a few days before the system updates with this information.

If a Foundations Director needs help understanding how to enter the community roster on the CC Portal or how to designate his/her tutors properly, he/she should visit the CC University area of the CC Portal. Under Portal Instructions, he/she will find help for entering families and tutors correctly in order to receive the CC Connected discounts.

If these factors are all satisfactorily in place and you have waited the allotted time for the system updating but continue to have the same problems, please contact CC Customer Service for assistance.

How do I clean out my browser cache?

A frequent problem that happens is that your browser saves off pages you have visited in order to more quickly display them for you the next time you visit that page, but this sometimes produces unfavorable results. If you successfully subscribed and you received an email confirmation but you are still getting the "failed login" page, please try the suggestions below.  If you get a message that says you are already logged-in, these suggestions can work for that as well. Make sure that your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari) and any addins/plugins you are using are fully updated.

  1. 1) Clear out your browser cache.
    1. a) In Firefox, go to Tools and then Clear Recent History.  Check the box next to Cache and for Time Range select Everything.
    2. b) In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options and under the General tab click the Delete button under Browsing History.  Make sure Temporary Internet Files is selected and click the Delete button.  Click on the Settings button. Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, check Every time I visit the webpage. Click OK. Then OK again.
    3. c) In Google Chrome, go to Tools and Clear Browsing Data.
  2. 2) Restart your browser after clearing out the cache.
  3. 3) If it still isn't working for you, please try a different browser than you normally use.  Browsers include Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome.

How do I reset my password?

After logging in with your current password, go to the top right corner and click on Login to CC Connected and click on this link: Forgot Your Password? This screen will allow you to reset your password.

My Adobe Flash Player isn’t working with Safari browser – is there anything I can do?

There is a long-standing, notorious problem between Adobe Flash and Safari.  Some things that have helped others are to:

  1. 1) Make sure Safari has all the necessary software updates it needs.  This is found under the Apple menu.
  2. 2) Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.  If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall Flash Player.
  3. 3) Clear out all your Safari browser history, temporary files, etc.  Browsers save off pages so that the next time you visit that page it doesn't have to download the entire page, which saves time.  The downside is that sometimes the saved page is one that doesn't work.
  4. 4) Use a different browser, such as Firefox.

Why am I getting an “Invalid Token” error?

If the token emailed to you after subscribing will not allow you to log in, please close out your browser, and then re-attempt it. If you still do not have success, you may need to clean out your cache.

A frequent problem is that your browser saves off pages you have visited in order to more quickly display them for you the next time you visit that page, but this sometimes produces unfavorable results. If you successfully subscribed and received an email confirmation but are still getting the "failed log in" page, please try the suggestions below. If you get a message that says you are already logged-in, this suggestion can work for that as well.

  1. 1) Clear out your browser cache/history.
    1. a) In Firefox, go to Tools and then Clear Recent History. Check the box next to Cache and for Time Range, select Everything.
    2. b) In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, and under the General tab click the Delete button under Browsing History. Make sure Temporary Internet File is selected and click the Delete button.
    3. c) In Google Chrome, go to Tools and Clear Browsing Data.
  2. 2) Restart your browser after clearing out the cache/history.
  3. 3) Please also make sure your browser is updated to the latest version available.
  4. 4) If it still isn't working for you, please try a different browser than you normally use. Browsers include: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. If you can get it to work in another browser, that means you still have a page stuck in your browsing history that needs to be cleared out.

If you try these suggestions and still cannot access the site, please contact CC Customer Service for assistance.

Why am I getting a “Not Authorized” error?

If you are getting a "Not Authorized" error, please refresh your screen. If you still have trouble, you may need to restart your browser and log back in.

If you have done that and are still having trouble, please follow these steps:

First, be sure you are logged in.

How do I know I am logged in?

Your username will appear in the top right corner with a red X next to it.

Once you are logged in, click on the CC Connected menu item in the blue navigation bar. A USER INFORMATION area will appear on the screen. This area displays your SUBSCRIPTION information: the tiers you are subscribed to and the length of your subscription plan (year-long or monthly auto-renewal).

If there is no subscription plan, that means you were unable to successfully subscribe. Please try to subscribe again. After a successful subscription, you should receive an email in your inbox immediately. If you do not receive this subscription confirmation email, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SPAM folder. The email will be from CCSupport@ClassicalConversations.com.

If you do have a subscription plan and are still getting the "Not Authorized" error, please contact CC Customer Service for further investigation into your account issue.

CC Products: New or Outgoing

What are the differences between the 3rd edition and 4th edition Foundations Guide?

Below is the link to the updates to the 3rd edition Foundations Guide.  Please note that the new CC History Timeline is NOT included in this document.

http://www.classicalconversations.com/images/bookstore/foundations%204th%20ed%20changes.pdf

There is no online listing of the new CC Timeline.

To obtain the CC Timeline, you may subscribe to CC Connected or purchase one of these products: Foundations Guide, 4th edition; Classical Acts and Facts History Cards; Memory Master Flashcards; or new (2012) Audio or Memory Work Resource CDs.

Should I purchase the discounted outgoing memory work resources – are the changes significant?

The outgoing memory work materials (Audio CDs, Memory Work Resource CD, and Memory Flashcards) are being revised to reflect the changes in the new 4th edition Foundations Guide.

The 4th edition Foundations Guide includes the new history timeline in words, and the timeline will also be included in the revised memory work materials. The new timeline song is available on the new Cycle 1 Audio and Memory Work Resource CDs!

Other changes are minor; the differences between the 3rd and 4th edition Foundations Guides are summarized and available at this link: http://www.classicalconversations.com/images/bookstore/foundations%204th%20ed%20changes.pdf

Can you tell me more about the transition to the new CC Timeline and the Classical Acts and Facts History Cards?

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Classical Conversations’ new and revised products for 2012. As you know, the CC MultiMedia team works diligently each year to create quality products and resources for CC communities and homeschooling families. Due to be released in early 2012, the Foundations Guide, 4th edition will contain updates to the weekly memory work and will introduce CC’s new Classical Acts and Facts History Cards as our timeline memory work. We are eager and excited to see this long-term vision become a reality.

Upcoming details, samples, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) can be found on the Classical Conversations website and in the Postcards e-Newsletter.

Foundations communities will have three years to transition to CC’s Classical Acts and Facts History Cards exclusively for Memory Master; there will be two timeline tracks available for Memory Master for the next three years.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement of Classical Conversations’ mission to know God and to make Him known.

Classical Acts and Facts History Cards will become available for purchase from the online CC Bookstore on April 16, 2012.

For more information, you can download this brochure.

Or, watch this video.

What are the differences between the Audio CDs and the Memory Work Resource CD?

Following is a summary of the similarities and differences between our Audio & Memory Work Resource CDs, along with details about resources available through CC Connected:

  • The Audio CDs and the Memory Work Resource CDs contain the same grammar songs, including the new history timeline song.
  • The Audio 3-CD set is intended to be played in a CD player and consists of: 1) Subject CD (memory work tracks arranged according to subject), 2) Weekly CD (memory work tracks arranged according to week), and 3) Timeline and More CD (CC Timeline Song, Orchestra Song, Books of the Bible Songs (and more), and CC Program overviews from Leigh Bortins).
  • The Memory Work Resource (MWR) CD is a PowerPoint slide presentation that has visuals, songs, links, and printable files and is only usable in a PC computer. (Not MAC compatible.) The grammar on the MWR CD is listed by subject only.

A subscription to CC Connected provides access to the same resources as contained in the Audio and Memory Work Resource CDs along with additional resources, file sharing, forums, etc.

Why can’t I put a discounted “while supplies last” item in my shopping cart?

Due to changes or updates to CC products and curriculum, some outgoing products will be available--while they last--until they are sold out; therefore, when all outgoing products are sold out, that version of the product will no longer be produced or available for purchase.

Occasionally, the website cannot be updated immediately after an item is out of stock. If the item is on the website but you cannot put it in your shopping cart, that item has been sold out.

Homeschooling through High School

How do I make a high school transcript?

As a homeschooling parent, we support you as the primary educator of your children. If you are enrolled in one of our Challenge programs, please refer to your Challenge Guide; here you will find a sample transcript with ideas and correlations to our Challenge program coursework. We recognize that homeschooling parents supplement and modify elements at home to best meet their student and transcript needs, so please use the information in the Challenge Guide in accordance with your goals.

For professionally formatted student records, GPA calculations, transcripts, and immunization records, please visit www.AcademicRecords.net. This student résumé builder also summarizes records for extracurricular activities, awards and achievements, competitions, community and missions service, work experience, and conduct. (Recordkeeping is FREE until you choose to print your official records; currently the fee is $15.00 per printed official transcript.)

If you are a parent who is considering whether or not to join a CC Community and have questions regarding how our program path might fit into a high school transcript, you may find this document with sample transcript ideas helpful:

http://classicalconversations.com/images/pdffiles/challenge_difference_2.pdf

For more information about our programs and communities, please request a catalog: http://clcvr.se/nIXai6

If you have general questions about your state’s transcript needs, we recommend you visit HSLDA’s website and follow the links about homeschooling through high school.

If you have further questions about our programs and communities in your area, please contact your local Support Manager. To locate your Support Manager's email address, click on the map on the front page of our website and then click on your state.

How do I calculate credits for each Challenge/high school strand?

Classical Conversations exists as a complementary service to homeschooling families. As such, parents retain the primary roles of teaching and recording the student’s progress. This includes determining the credits for each seminar. Please read our document, "CC College Students" found at http://classicalconversations.com/. Select Academic Programs, from the top menu bar, then Challenge.  You can find links to "CC College Students" as well as other helpful resources on the right side of the page.

Also, be sure to check out www.academicrecords.net for your transcript needs.

How do I calculate credits for my Challenge B student?

First, please remember that Classical Conversations exists as a complementary service to homeschool families. As such, parents own the responsibility of determining the credits for each seminar. "The Challenge Difference" document provides some good guidelines of possible credits and is a good resource for parents of Challenge students. They may compare the credits they would acquire through CC and determine if it will meet the graduation requirements for their state. In most cases, CC Challenge students have more than enough credits to meet state graduation requirements.

In Challenge B, students can get 1 credit for successful completion of Introductory and Intermediate Logic, and .5 credit for debate (Mock Trial). Technically, if they are taking Algebra 1 as a high school student, they would get credit for that as well. For everything else, parents will have to supplement the assignments in order to make them equivalent to high school level work. What is deserving of a credit varies from family to family. As a result, the tutor is not in a position to provide an 'enhanced' assignment schedule.  There could be adverse ramifications if, for example, the parents followed her suggestions and then a college didn't accept the credits.

The parents will have to do some research and decide what their educational goals are for the student. Some parents begin by looking at admission requirements at potential colleges and work backward from there. (If they need 4 credits of a foreign language, they will need to boost Latin in Challenge B or take an extra course over the summer.)

It is important for parents to look at the whole path for high school. In science, for example, some states only require 2 sciences with labs for graduation. If the student is not going to be a science major, they would meet that requirement through completion of Challenge I Physical Science and Challenge II Biology. In this scenario, parents wouldn't have to worry about science credits while in Challenge B; however, if they want to get a full science credit in Challenge B, the parent may require the student to do MORE research or write a more in-depth paper each week. Perhaps they could require a timeline project or something of that sort; the parent would have the student do Challenge B assignments, but in greater depth.

The tutor is not in a position to determine what is credit-worthy or to give enhanced assignments. The parents must decide and be the final giver of grades/credits. (Directors, if you know of any veteran homeschoolers who have walked the path to college admissions, you might want to put them in touch with these parents.)

Mobile Devices and CC Apps

How do I get a refund for an iPad or iPod app?

Purchases of Classical Conversations iPad, iPod, and iPhone apps are non-refundable through Classical Conversations. Purchases and refunds must be made through an iTunes account.

Why can’t I navigate the CC website (or online tutorial) with my mobile phone/device?

Currently, many mobile devices, such as phones and tablets, do not support the Classical Conversations website(s). Drop-downs do not work properly since it is not possible to "hover" over a button. In addition, CC online tutorials also do not always work as expected on mobile devices.

Classical Conversations is committed to using technology to allow customers to experience CC curriculum in a format conducive to learning. We are currently undergoing development to produce the ability for CC curriculum to be used on today’s (and tomorrow's) various mobile devices, and we hope to announce this resource soon. Stay tuned!

We have established a work-around for the drop-down menu problem, however. If you are attempting to navigate the CC website on a mobile device, you will find a link at the very bottom of the page that says "Menu for Tablet Users". This link will take you to a text page that lists all of the links currently available through the drop-down menus.

I love the new Foundations Memory Work Tutorials, Cycle 3 App, but I’m having audio problems. Can you help?

It appears to be a problem with the iPad side switch settings.

Apple's support page titled "Understanding the Side Switch" explains how the side switch works.

Here is the link to this support page - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

Alternatively, this step-by-step process has corrected the iPad audio issue for some:

1) Go to Settings, then to General.

2) Change "Use side switch to:" so that the "Lock Rotation" setting is checked instead of the "Mute" setting.

3) Then, double-click the bottom Home button on the iPad so that the app icons show up.

4) Slide your finger from left to right until the volume and brightness icons show up.

5) The speaker icon will likely be crossed out showing that it is muted. Click it so it is no longer muted.

6) This should take care of your problem. Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

How do I restore a lost app to my iPad?

Your iPad device provides a way to restore apps you have purchased.  Simply go to the App Store on your iPad, click on the Purchased tab on the bottom, and then look for our app (or any other app that has a cloud next to it), and click on it.  It will start to download the selected app to your device.  Here is a link that describes the process; scroll down to "Download from App Store Manually" section.

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/10/13/how-to-recover-lost-apps-after-ios-5-upgrade/

When will the Cycle 2 App be available for iPod/iPad?

Cycle 2 iPod and iPad apps will be released in the fall of 2013.

Testing

May I return Test Prep materials?

Due to the consumable nature of these testing materials and the changes the publisher makes each year on their prep materials, all sales on Test Prep materials are final.

However, we will gladly exchange materials if a mistake was made on the level you intended to purchase.  Please contact Customer Service if your order was incorrectly shipped.

Text Corrections and Edition Changes

What are the differences between the 3rd edition and 4th edition Foundations Guide?

Updates to the 3rd edition Foundations Guide

Please note that the new CC History Timeline is NOT included in this document.

What are the updates to the Foundations Guide, 4th edition? (summer 2013)

This revision includes a slight reduction in the size of the Foundations Guide. There are a few minor updates to the text and memory work, but most of the changes occur in the maps. Please see this document for updates to the Foundations Guide, 4th edition (revised 6/2013).

Where do I find the corrected version of page 41 of Mock Trial Notebook (v. 2011)?

The initial printing in 2011 of the Mock Trial Notebook contained a misprint in the "Diagram of the Body" on page 41. (Part of the image was covered by the page title.) This error has been corrected, but if your version is from that initial printing, please click on the link below to see a CORRECTED page 41.  Please print this page and insert into your notebook.

We apologize for this inconvenience. http://www.classicalconversations.com/images/pdffiles/2011%20mock%20trial%20notebook%20p41.pdf

What are the changes from the 1987 edition of It Couldn't Just Happen to the 2011 edition?

An in-depth comparison of the changes, especially as they might affect Classical Conversations students, is available as a downloadable document here.

What are the differences between the 1992 and 2011 Editions of Don't Check Your Brains at the Door?

General layout is much improved graphically in the 2011 edition. Print has more space between lines and less words per page; additional divisions of sections within chapters offer clarity. Page numbers in the newer edition vary from 2 to 15 pages. Both versions could be used simultaneously in a group study. For more information, please review this document detailing the changes.

Is there an error on Trivium Tables: Latin?

Yes, we apologize for the error. Please note this error and correction:

(On the light yellow page) MORE VERBS > Subjunctive Mood > Passive Voice > Perfect System > Pluperfect > 1st Stem > laudāt (not laudāv)

What are the changes in the new Discovering Atomos?
