Born and raised in Missouri, Susan Reilly attended Northwest Missouri State University where she studied electronics. She was soon employed by a small manufacturing company in southern Missouri. It was there that Susan met her husband Bill, who soon swept her off her feet. Twenty years later, they live in Kansas City, Missouri with their four children ages 3 through 18.

Looking back, Susan says that the Lord was calling her to homeschool from the start. "It was only natural to teach my four year old to read." Unfortunately, she didn't know her options, and it took two years to recognize what the public school system was doing to her oldest. It seems she had made a mistake teaching him to read early.
