Northshore Support Manager
Classical Conversations was answered prayer for April’s walk as a new homeschooling parent. She desired a curriculum that would not only provide accountability and structure, but place Christ as the core in all subjects. Jumping in with abundant faith, she tutored Essentials on a new campus her first year in the program and then the following year moved up to tutor Challenge A to walk alongside her daughter. Throughout this process, God blessed their family by equipping them with the tools of learning needed to discover the order and beauty of God’s creation and to inspire others to do the same. Following the vision of Classical Conversations, April believes parents are their children’s primary teachers – not because parents know everything, but because each child is uniquely and wonderfully made. The people who know and love a child best are the ones most motivated to help that child succeed.
April prays that through Christ she will be used to empower and support parents through the Classical Conversations Communities and Parent Practicums on the Northshore. These services ultimately equip parents to educate their children with the classical tools of learning and a biblical worldview so that they might impact the world for God’s glory.

When Danielle joined Classical Conversations four years ago, she had 6 children: a 3-month-old, 2-year-old twins, and ages 5, 7, and 9. She was exhausted but dedicated to homeschooling her children. A friend of hers told her about CC and encouraged her to join a campus. Danielle joined a community looking for help, support, and encouragement. She received what she was looking for, but most of all, she received grace. Her children learned more that year, although she was not doing the typical “schooling" at home. She found a community of committed Christians who would walk along side her and offer her the grace she needed to know that a little done well goes a long way.
Four years later, Danielle has grown as a homeschooling mother and has learned more every year about the Christian classical model. Now she has a more home-centered learning environment and less school. Excellence is her guide and grace is her support. She would like to spread the message of Classical Conversations: the purpose of education is to know God and to make Him known through a Christ-centered educational model that equips parents and encourages students. She is praying that Classical Conversations of the New Orleans Metro Area will be the light upon the lamp stand to the community. This area has two existing communities in Metairie and Algiers. For this coming 2013-2014 school year, there will be two new communities being birthed in the Gentilly and Harvey area. Danielle prays that CC is the standard of excellence in the home-centered education movement.

Jennifer and her husband, Mickey, have homeschooled their children for six years. Jennifer knew when her oldest child began homeschooling that she wanted to be connected to other Christian homeschoolers in her area. After attending the first Classical Conversations informational meeting in Louisiana, she knew her prayers had been answered. Her family was among the five families who started the first Foundations/Essentials program in Louisiana in 2007. She has been privileged to be a Foundations Tutor for the last two years. Not only did CC connect her family with other Christian families, it also introduced her to the classical model of education which has enabled her children to learn the way that God created them to learn.
As one of the Support Managers for Louisiana, Jennifer hopes to share with other families across the state about Classical Conversations and how it has enhanced her family’s homeschooling experience. By giving her children the tools of learning, she feels confident that they will be equipped to do God’s will for their lives. As she shares with others about Classical Conversations, she will be giving them the opportunity to guide their children along a path that leads to knowing God and making Him known throughout the world.
Northeast Louisiana Support Manager
Regina has always loved education, so she was excited to begin homeschooling her two sons five years ago. She had previously earned a masters degree in Special Education to become an advocate not only for her son with special needs, but for other families of special needs children as well. Following the loss of her oldest son, her two younger sons requested to be homeschooled. Regina and her husband agreed and she has since become an advocate for homeschooling. After learning how incredible the classical model is for all students, she joined Classical Conversations and began serving in various leadership roles. She believes that once parents witness the benefits of classical education, they will want to continue homeschooling classically and can do so easily with the support of Classical Conversations.
Regina is thrilled to have the opportunity to share Classical Conversations with Louisiana homeschool families. Passionate about encouraging families through their homeschool journey, she is eager to promote this incredible program that has provided a Christian homeschool community of support and accountability for her family. Convinced that learning classically is the way God designed all ages to learn, she looks forward to establishing three new Classical Conversations communities as well as strengthening the high school Challenge programs on existing campuses in Northeast Louisiana.

Theresa’s vision for both homeschool and Classical Conversations comes from the verse in Mark 10:14 where Jesus says, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.”Her heart is in bringing children to Christ. She and her husband strive to do this in their home with their two daughters, in Children’s Church, or through education. Theresa’s desire is to build a generation of mighty men and women for God who are powerful warriors of their faith – a generation who will be able to defend their faith as well as explain it. She has found that through Classical Conversations, generations (parents and children) are being taught to not only love learning, but also to know God and to make Him known.
Theresa is excited to strengthen and build Classical Conversation communities in the Baton Rouge area with people who have a passion to educate their children in the wisdom and truth of God. She sees the need for parents to build relationships with other parents who can mentor them in a strong Spirit-led group. This year, her goal is to branch out to the areas of southeast Baton Rouge and to the Port Allen area, however not limiting herself to these locations. She is also looking forward to establishing Challenge campuses all around Baton Rouge to encourage and equip parents to homeschool their children through high school.

Encouraging full-time parenting is a passion for Yvette and Larry Blanchard. After homeschooling for eight years and being blessed with the fruit of this walk of obedience, Yvette is excited to share the vision of Christian classical education. She loves building a foundation of grammar and seeking wisdom through dialectic opportunities and has found this possible for her family through Classical Conversations and the timeless and timely lessons it offers.
Supporting the southwestern area of Louisiana, Yvette reaches into the communities of her area, to extend hope and encouragement to parents with school-aged children. She is excited about the growth of homeschool and Classical Conversations in this area and is looking forward to growing new communities especially in the Lake Charles area for the 2013-2014 school year. Homeschoolers in Louisiana are embracing the superior education offered by Classical Conversations due to the spirit of excellence that encompasses the program and a purposeful response to our education dilemmas.
